Fluffy, buttery, ready in about an hour.


  •  1 1/2 cups warm water
  •  1 tablespoon instant yeast
  •  2 tablespoons sugar
  •  1 teaspoon salt
  •  3 to 4 cups flour, about 15-20 ounces


  1. Start with a cup of flour, add more as needed.
  2. Mix ingredients in stand mixer, knead until smooth and soft.
  3. Rest dough 5 minutes. Spread on oiled surface and roll out to the size of a baking sheet.
  4. Preheat oven to 400. Put 3 T butter (measure with your heart) in a baking sheet and place in oven during preheat until melted, then tip baking sheet to cover the bottom evenly.
  5. Place dough in baking sheet, spread to edges, cut a line every 1-2 inches breadthwise.
  6. Top with garlic salt and cheese.
  7. Let rise 20 minutes. Bake for 15 minutes.
