Sweet and sour hot dogs over rice.
Ingredients §
- 1 can (20 oz) pineapple tidbits or chunks in juice
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1-2 hot dogs, cut in half lengthwise and then into bite-sized pieces
- 1-2 bell peppers, diced
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- White rice
Directions §
- Cook the white rice by your preferred method.
- Separate pineapple from juice (you’ll use both).
- Combine pineapple juice, 1/4 cup sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and vegetable oil in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Mix cornstarch and water into a slurry, then add to the saucepan and stir to thicken. Taste and add more sugar to your liking.
- Add pineapple tidbits/chunks, hot dogs, and bell peppers to the saucepan. Cook until everything is heated through.
- Serve over rice.
